As a CNA, with the acquired skills and knowledge graduates will be a key provider in today’s world of health care. The CNA Training Program at M.A.C prepares individuals with the information and the experience needed to become a Nurse Assistant who will provide quality care for residents in long-term care facilities, hospitals, home health care, and hospice settings.

Students will learn many skills including;

Prior to the direct contact with patients, the following areas will be covered;

$1Ø  + Basic Life Support, safety, and emergency procedures.

$1Ø  + Infection control

$1Ø  + Communication and interpersonal skills.

$1Ø  + Respecting patients’ rights

$1Ø  + Patients independence

During the clinical portion of the program, students will be directly supervised by the Clinical Instructor. Training will include a demonstration by the trainer/instructor of basic patient care skills, directly tied to

the theory and conceptual training in the classroom and skills lab. The clinical training will take place in a skilled nursing facility and there will be no more than 15 students per clinical instructor.

The clinical portion of the program prepares students to work as a CNA in a long-term care setting.

Montezuma College makes available all training equipment and materials that will be used in the skills laboratory and in the classroom with the proper ratio.

Montezuma American College is a provider of Nurse Assistant Training and other health care professions for individuals to work in the nursing field for over the past several years. The program is designed with input from educators, caregivers, and long-term industry representatives and approved by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).

Just a few days a week for 7 weeks, CNA classes are available in which students learn in a hands-on environment under the eyes of caring and professional nurses.
