The veterinary assistant training program is a 12 weeks program including an externship portion to experience an actual clinical setting and training. WHICH VETERINARY ASSISTANT SKILLS WILL I LEARN? Animal Anatomy and Physiology. Animal Examination room procedures Animal restraint Pharmacy and pharmacology Surgical preparation and assisting small animal nursing Laboratory procedures Restraint procedures, nail trims, first aid and CPR On the externship portion students will learn additional clinical and administrative skills based on day to day activities on site.
Program length: 12 weeks Total hours: 288 Hours (128 hours and 160 externship hours) Tuition: $2,400 including textbooks and materials The Medical Assistant Program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions as a clinical medical assistant in a variety of health care settings. Students study the structure and function of the major body systems in conjunction with medical terminology, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, specimen collections, minor surgical procedures, CPR and Emergency procedures, Blood draw and therapeutic administration and injections.
